I got to record at Capital Records, which was especially awesome. You see all those big singers like Ariana Grande, Beyonce: they’re all recording at Capital. It was really cool to be there every single day and just hang out.
When I’m hard at work, when I’m deep in it, there is no other feeling. For me, my work is at all times building a nation out of thin air. It is manning the troops. It is painting a canvas. It is hitting every high note. It is running a marathon. It is being Beyonce. And it is all of those things at the same time.
I’m listening to a lot of Drake, and a lot of Frank Sinatra just because it’s his centennial also. I’m going to be doing some tributes to him this year. I love that Beck album. It was funny to me because my two favorite albums of the year were definitely the Beyonce album and the Beck album.

You know how Jessica Simpson and Beyonce have signature perfumes and make a mint? I’m thinking this cologne could be my ticket to fortune.
I don’t want to be left in the past. When I stand next to Kylie, Beyonce or Rihanna, I don’t want to be a decrepit old lady.
Whether it be Beyonce or Justin Bieber, we see singers who have absolutely nothing to offer anyone as they walk off stage clutching three Grammys in each hand.

Ailee, to me, is just such a talented, powerful voice. She’s sexy; she’s beautiful. I’m a huge fan. I like her a lot. I really hope she keeps going at it. I really like her song ‘I Will Show You.’ To me, she has that Beyonce vibe.
‘Lemonade’ resonated with me, and I love the direction Beyonce is going with her music and her career.
There are days I’m feeling lazy, and my mom will remind me, ‘Beyonce also only has 24 hours during the day.’ That always keeps me going.
Beyonce is, like, the highest level. We all reach for that level.
